Colan Ho - "Reading a comic book under the tree here on a weekday afternoon provides a moment of tranquility amidst the tense city life".
Through exhibiting the artwork Sunday Afternoon, Hong Kong Arts Centre hopes to bring some artistic elements for the Youth Square, to enlighten this public area forgotten by the pedestrians. Sunday Afternoon is made of fiber glasses, painted in cheerful colors which filled the sculpture with energy. This energetic spirit of the artwork perfectly matches with the venue, which hopes to gather the Youth’s power as a sparkling point for local Youth development.
Colan has been engaging in graphic design, comics, painting and sculpture since 1994. He likes classical and science fiction themes. Colan created “Amazing Twins”, “The Rocket Club” and “United Planet” as his representative works. His works are in the collections of Hong Kong Heritage Museum, Hong Kong Arts Centre, Hong Kong Design Institute and Museum fur Kunst und Gewerbe, Germany.
